Happy New Year!

Can you believe it's 2010 already? The January issue is out and we're putting the final touches on the February issue, so it feels like 2010 is already settling in around here. Hopefully you've had the time to check out January's "Breeding & Buying" issue. If not, here are some quick links to just a few of the articles our talented authors have brought you this month:

"Equine Photography for Buyers and Sellers"

by Catherine Madera

A picture can be worth a thousand words...or dollars. Learn how to take the best photos of your horse, whether you're looking to sell or just trying to get a good likeness.

"Old Horses, New Friends: NWHS Reader Perspectives"

We asked about your experiences of buying, selling and adopting in 2009. Here's what several readers had to say.

"The New Reality of Breeding"

On the Plus Side columnist Allison Trimble takes a look at how breeding and buying have changed and shares her thoughts on how this will affect the horse industry over the next few years.

"Water: The Overlooked Nutrient"

Don't miss this first installment in a series of six Equine Wellness columns by Dr. Larry Lawrence of Kentucky Equine Research.

"No More Worming Worries"

The January 2010 Trainer's Corner kicks off the beginning of a 4-part series by internationally acclaimed trainer Clinton Anderson. He begins with training techniques to make worming easier on you and your horses.

Horsekeeping Tip: Hoof Soaking

If you need to soak your horse's hoof due to injury or infection, be very careful to limit the amount of time you soak to avoid further damage to the sensitive parts of the hoof, and soak only with a veterinarian-approved solution.
